Using small diameter tubes can increase heat transfer area per unit volume, compact structure, reduce metal consumption and improve heat transfer coefficient. It is estimated that the heat transfer area can be increased by about 40% and the metal can be saved by more than 20% by changing the heat exchange tube of the same diameter from Φ 25mm to Φ 19mm. But the small diameter fluid resistance is big, inconvenient to clean and easy to block. Generally, large diameter pipe is used for viscous or dirty fluid, while small diameter pipe is used for cleaner fluid.
